The young fellow trapped in the “regular” car with his parents—who are repeatedly and hilariously harmonizing to “Angel of the Morning”—is a curly clad red-head. His curls are medium length and loose…in other words, he’s adorable! Our favorite part is when, with panic in his eyes, he mouths the words “help me” to his curly counterpart in the SUV!

Then there’s the Krly Kid in the SUV; he’s blond, his curls are long and he is seriously cool. (Plus his bomber jacket is super-stylish, compared to the turtleneck and sweater on the poor, captive red-head.) We love his hair…and apparently many other people do too! It turns out that the boy in the SUV is actually a well-known young actor, Riley Thomas Stewart!

Young Mr. Stewart has appeared on television shows such as “House,” “Criminal Minds” and “How I Met Your Mother” (as a young Barney, the character played by Neil Patrick Harris). He actually just finished making his second movie, The Lucky One, which will star Zac Efron. And you’ll see him in the soon-to-be-released The Beaver with Mel Gibson and Jodie Foster!

We look forward to seeing more from this talented young actor…and in the meantime we’ll keep enjoying those luscious curls on TV.

Don’t you find it interesting that it’s only at the end of Broadway’s much-beloved musical “Annie,” that the title character finally appears with her fabulous trademark curls and red dress? We sure do…it’s one of those amazing “transformation” finales, and Ouidad thinks it’s appropriate that the “new and improved” Annie is a seriously curly-clad girl!

The comic strip character, Little Orphan Annie, was created by Harold Gray and appeared in print for the first time in 1924. Walt Disney opened his visionary Disneyland on July 17, 1955, in Anaheim, California, and it has been a place full of magic and excitement ever since! Likewise, some of Disney’s original Mouseketeers on TV had adorable curly hair. The most famous and popular member of the original Mickey Mouse Club, Annette Funicello, was idolized for her spunky brunette curls and her perky personality. More recently, on The All New Mickey Mouse Club, Justin Timberlake’s curls stood out and impressed viewers!

It’s funny, even though Disney seemed to favor the long, wavy-haired male characters—particularly princes—in its films, they apparently were not too fond of them in real life: until the late 1960s, male visitors sporting long hair were stopped at the gates at Disneyland, and politely informed that they did not meet the standards of Disneyland’s unwritten dress code…that means some of our favorite California surfer men from today, like Matthew McConaughey, would not have been admitted. The horror!
