Can you be a naturally powerful woman? What make you powerful?

Sometimes I hear critics and some editors comment how “straight hair” looks more business like, more professional!

It hit me during a curl consultation with a client, how most of society has stayed in the safe arena of fashion and style.  Hair especially has been the prime target for playing by the rules.

So how can a woman be naturally powerful? By making choices based on what really makes you feel good and feel free! When you walk into a meeting, interview, conference…does your presentation please you?! Freedom and power work best together…..it creates light and everyone notices! Whether straight…curly….wavy…..be a happy and powerful woman.

    Love,

Cypriano’s Tips for a Drama Free (and Curly) Vacation

Taking a holiday this winter? We all know packing for a vacation can be stressful, especially for a curly girl! Pack light and still have great curls with these multi tasking styling products and tips from Ouidad NY Stylist, Cypriano!

Your Travelling Curl Essentials: Sun Shield, Moisture Lock, Climate Control Heat & Humidity Gel, Frizz & Flyaway Fighter, a Ouidad Comb, and a large clip or barrette

A Day at the Beach

Before you head in the sun: Prior to heading to the beach, wet hair in the shower and condition only. Do not rinse conditioner out 100%. Instead rinse conditioner from hair lightly and the squeezing with hands allowing some of the conditioner to be absorbed by the hair.

Next, spray the Sun Shield and detangle curls with Ouidad’s Wide Tooth Comb or Double Detangler. Using a quarter size of Moisture Lock, gently apply to the ends of the curls and around the hairline, or wherever hair is driest/damaged or prone to frizz!

Now take a quarter size of the Climate Control Gel and just scrunch into curls. Putting hair up in a bun/ponytail or wearing a hat is best to preserve curls while you are out and about having fun at the beach.

From the Beach to Casual Sightseeing

Hair by now should be dry from the beach. All you have to do is turn head upside down and using your fingers in a circular motion you massage the roots. This will release some movement through the hair and add a bit of lift.

Then you spray a bit of Sun Shield and scrunch curls gently. Allow a few minutes to reactivate the previous products used earlier, then spray the Frizz & Flyaway Fighter all over. 4-5 mists to smooth out any flyaways. Now you are ready for a stylish day of sightseeing!

From Sightseeing to a Night Out

Using Sun Shield, spray 2-3 times. This will hydrate curls helping them to spring back up. Allow 3-5 minutes to dry and then using the Frizz & Flyaway Fighter, spray 3-4 times and calm down frizz and flyaways using your fingers.

It would be great to have a couple of light accessories here such as a large clip (the one with stones, flowers etc. on it), or a barrette of your choice. This will automatically help dress your curls up and prepare you for an elegant evening out or dinner and fun.

After you spray on the Frizz & Flyaway Fighter, grab your curls and put them in a loose french twist. You can turn/twist ends gently together and place on top of your head. This adds a bit of softness to the up do so it doesn’t look like you just put your hair up in a simple ponytail.

Safe Travels!
