Statistics reveal that there are typically six degrees of separation between you and someone who has been diagnosed with breast cancer. If you don’t personally know someone with breast cancer, you have a family member or friend who knows someone with the disease. This is the subtle way breast cancer touches all of our lives. Indeed, just ten years ago, Ouidad herself was diagnosed with breast cancer. And while she was able to make a full recovery, her personal battle with breast cancer motivated her to establish the Curls for A Cure® foundation.

Curls for a Cure funds the fight to find a cure for breast cancer by directly supporting the initiatives of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation®. Their mission provides resources for critical clinical research in leading medical centers around the world. In addition, they work to increase public awareness about breast cancer and breast health. These initiatives become increasingly important year by year, as the American Cancer Society estimates show that nearly 600 new cases of invasive breast cancer are diagnosed daily. Ouidad chose to put her full confidence in support of the Breast Cancer Research Foundation because more than 85% of the funds they receive go directly into innovative breast cancer research and awareness programs.

To find a fight for the cure, Ouidad has made it easy to make a donation that matters. Every contribution made to Curls for a Cure—no matter how large or how small—will receive a dollar-for-dollar matching donation from Ouidad. Outright contributions can be made from one of the “Donation” links on the Ouidad website, or, through their shopping basket when making a purchase. To date, more than $400,000 has been donated to the BCRF through Curls for a Cure, and the numbers keep growing everyday!
