In a recent interview with San Diego Magazine, Ouidad, in all her curly glory, chats about her long and illustrious career in the hair industry.

San Diego talked about the Ouidad mystique – and her beginnings. Once upon a time, Ouidad and her husband Peter Wise took a $25,000 small business loan and started their first hair care salon….within months the loan was repaid and she had a mighty curly following! In fact, San Diego Magazine’s Rebekah Sager notes, “Ouidad was the first to create a separate beauty market exclusively for curly hair.” Ouidad was on to something… it started fast, took off to new heights and her legacy continues today.

In the interview, Ouidad gives two key pieces of advice for having and maintaining beautiful curls: a great cut and first-rate products! Ouidad has a flagship salon in New York City and Santa Monica, California in addition to dozens of Ouidad-Certified salons throughout the United States.
