Talk about delish! Chef Nancy Silverton’s gorgeous red curls are so twisty and fun, they look like they were whisked by expert culinary hands. Well, it’s true, this outstanding award-winning chef has won nearly every gastronomic award there is out there; from one of the 10 Best Pastry Chefs of the Year from Chocolatier Magazine, to The West 100: most influential people in Southern California, 2006 by the LA Times. With all her remarkable accomplishments, we think it’s impressive that Chef Silverton blends the art of the curl with her art of cooking!

Years ago, Nancy was a guest chef on one of Julia Child’s cooking shows, and she had a bit of a scare, as reported by LA Weekly. Nancy recalls:
“I…cut her a piece and she took a bite right away and tears started flowing down her face. So of course my only thought was that she burnt her mouth. I thought, oh, my god; I burnt the hell out of Julia Child!”
“…there was a pause and Julia said, on camera, with tears in her eyes, ‘It’s a dessert to cry over….this is the best dessert I’ve ever eaten.’ “
The curly chef keeps busy working at her L.A. restaurants, writing her famous cook books, and also guest judging on Top Chef. (We think having one of Ouidad’s Curl Confidence Kits with her at all times would definitely keep those spectacular spirals perfect as she’s cooking up a storm!)
Nancy’s combination of expertise and striking curls to match equal a delicious style for sure!
