Ouidad: The Curl Experts

The hottest movie in the country this fall may be a blockbuster because of its intriguing plot, amazing acting and social relevance … but at Ouidad we love The Social Network because its main characters (and the stars who play them)  all have such gorgeous curls!

The drama about the founding of Facebook is based on the lives of Harvard students Mark Zuckerberg and his best friend Eduardo Saverin. In “real life” Zuckerberg has classic curls while Saverin has thick, slightly wavy hair. (The actors who portray them are given hairstyles that are true to life: Jesse Eisenberg sports tight curls and Andrew Garfield has luxurious, thick waves.)

In addition to the two main characters, several other hot men with curls appear in the film; Armie Hammer plays both Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, the blond, wavy-haired twins who claim that Zuckerberg stole their social network idea, and curly Renaissance man Justin Timberlake plays the role of Napster co-founder Sean Parker who—wait for it—also happens to have an incredibly curly head of hair!

With all of these handsome men and their fantastic curls on the big screen, it’s hard to imagine anyone actually following the plot of the movie! OK, all kidding aside, Ouidad is thrilled to see so many men with curls portrayed so intelligently on screen. We’ll “Friend” these guys any day!

Who says that kids should have all the fun on Halloween? Those 36.4 million “trick-or-treaters” that dressed up to share riddles as we dispensed treats didn’t know all the tricks – Ouidad stylists also know a few of their own – like how to twist a fashionable curl for any occasion!

This Halloween was a real showcase for some of our Ouidad curly stylists who were dispatched to The View for a daytime Halloween styling gig:  our twisty technicians styled the right locks for the right look for The View’s Halloween themed show. Ouidad stylists had their work cut out for them with fashioning do’s from 18^th century’s Marie Antoinette to 20^th century curls with Barbara Eden’s; “I Dream If Jennie” and Madonna’s ’80-s Boy Toy look, highlighting an impressive set of costumes for a batch of eager models!

This was no casual stroll through the pumpkin patch though, as our technicians brought these costumes to life. It was all part of the curly Halloween spirit with Ouidad and The View, and it was loads of fun. Check out this Madonna before and after shot:
