Ban the Brush From Your Curl Routine!

We’ve all heard that ancient piece of advice recommending brushing our hair a hundred strokes a day. Well, if you have a curly kid … banish the thought! In fact, throw out the brush altogether!

One of the most important components of styling and caring for curly hair is using a nice, wide-tooth comb, like the Ouidad Double Detangler. Comb the hair only when it’s wet and well conditioned with our KRLY Kids No More Knots. (If you don’t need the double detangler, Ouidad’s traditional Wide Tooth Comb is perfect for in-shower or bath-time use. It even has a nifty hooked handle so you can hang it in the tub!) Then carefully rinse out the conditioner … or leave it in if you’re using No More Knots as a moisture treatment.

Some other tips for general care of children’s curly hair include washing it infrequently, and using a mild shampoo like KRLY Kids No Time for Tears. However, it’s extremely important to note that whenever you do shampoo, conditioning is a must! Conditioning after every shampoo will moisturize curls to keep them healthy and beautiful.

So, once you’ve cleaned those curls and applied conditioner, break out that good old wide-tooth comb and gently start detangling. Your children—and their curls!—will thank you!

Oh how I wish someone would have told MY parents this! I’m trying to spare my niece the horror :)
