No More Disbelief!

Wednesday, 3 June 2009 by Alex, Stylist

I see clients all the time who are Ouidad fanatics.  One recent client is a perfect example – she uses all the Ouidad products and does her deep treatments.  She comes to the salon for a cut and color regularly as well.  She even stayed home the day Ouidad was on Live with Regis and Kelly just to watch!  This was for the Bad Hair Makeovers shows when Ouidad cut, colored and styled a young woman with curly hair and I assisted. That day, when my client was at a grocery store on Long Island, a women standing behind her said “I’m sorry but did you happen to catch Regis and Kelly this morning?” My client replied, “Yes, actually the girl assisting Ouidad is my stylist.  You must go it changed my life!”

Two days later the woman from the grocery store came in to the salon. She told me the whole story of how she saw the show and the woman’s gorgeous curls, and how she was skeptical – thinking that we did something special or different because it was for TV. But after her cut and style she was in heaven and the skepticism vanished.

We see so many clients at the salon that are skeptical initially, and in disbelief after their appointments. It’s good to know that each day we change at least one person’s life for the better.

Hi Alex! This is Amanda, the lucky gal from the Live with Regis and Kelly bad hair contest, who had the privelage of having you and Ouidad turn my frizzy main into a work of art. I just wanted to tell you I’m still loving my curls and am so grateful for the whole experience. Since having the royal treatment at Ouidad’s salon, I have felt beautiful for the first time in my life. I can’t tell you how much that means to me. It really was life changing and I can finally LOVE my curls and let them be free!

    I missed Regis and Kelly….lucky Amanda! :)

Just wondering….would you ever considering offering Ouidad through Ulta or Sephora? I DO love Ouidad products, but once shipping is added…it always seems especially hard on my pocketbook. Now, if I could buy them locally…and maybe get points on my Ulta frequent shopper card…I don’t think I’d ever be without.

    Hope you’ll consider it. :)

Currently we are available at ouidad.com, HSN, and Ouidad certified salons throughout the country. We may look at distributing in retailers in the future based on the many customer and client requests.

Hi Amanda – Thank you so much for your comment. It really put a smile on my face. I am so glad to hear that you are loving your curls since the show. And I also loved your entry in the “If These Curls Could Talk” contest. Keep walking with a little pep in your step!

I visited ouidad last week for color w/ Alex- and she was amazing!!! She suggested that I switch to the climate control at this time of year, and man, I have gotten so many compliments!!! Actually, I intended to get a cut when I went in, but Alex honestly suggested that since I wanted to grow it out, it wasn’t ready for a cut, and maybe color would tide me over:) Man did I appreciate her honesty and really, my hair has never looked better!!! I will surely be back- I’m figuring out a way that it works w/ my budget!!!

I feel like a celebrity. I am the Long Island girl who inspired another curly girl as Alex wrote above. Most days people talk to me about my curls. I never felt good in them before but did not know how to wear them so they never looked good. Since I met Alex and went to Ouidad, I have embraced my curls. I find myself talking about the salon, products and Alex all the time. I even direct skeptics to the website to view the how to video. I use the whole line of products and just updated the collection to include the new packaging. I went from chemically staightening and flat ironing to being the curly girl in town. I feel lucky to be someone who loves their hair as too many people don’t even like their hair.
